Yesterday Nathan and I decided to do the tourist thing here in Monterey. We went into town with no real plan, which was fun. We just did whatever we felt like doing, really. First, we stopped at a gathering of "9/12-ers," (Glenn Beck term) which was essentially a tea party in honor of those who had marched in D.C. yesterday to protest big government. We didn't stay long 'cause not much was happening, but I was happy to go. If I had known about it ahead of time, I might have had a sign to wave around like the others there and stayed a little longer. Then we went to Italian Fest, which was mostly an excuse for Italians to sell food and merchandise. Not that interesting, really. Finally, we walked around Fisherman's Wharf and went on a glass-bottom boat tour. That was really cool. We saw seals and otters just from the dock, and the tour was even better!
P.S. I had planned on posting pictures and video we took, but my computer is old and feeble. Nathan has a nice, new one, so I'll have to get him to bring it with him the next time he visits me. (No, we're not living together yet. Later this week, if all goes as planned. Which, it hasn't yet since the plan was for this to happen last week, so cross your fingers!)

It really was the most fun I've had in a long long time. There is a crazy amount of things to do here and it's awesome. However (spoiler alert for pictures) I am never ever ever ever *deep breath* ever ever EVER going swimming/surfing/diving/kayaking/anything that risks falling in the water while we're here.
