Here's the list of foods as posted by Earthwize Farms on Facebook: We have a great veggie variety, with just a bit more to tide you over during next week's planned skip: Kale; Tender mustard Greens; Green cabbage; Green onions (Palmetto Sweet & long green); Sweet potatoes; Rutabagas; Herb bundle (Dill, Italian Parsley, Cilantro); Spinach; Cauliflower
I had already planned on making a quiche for dinner tonight, so rather than ham and broccoli it's now ham and spinach with some green onion. As soon as my turkey thaws out (I always buy an extra at Thanksgiving time since they are so cheap), we'll have the sweet potatoes and mashed rutabagas. Finally, I read that you can bake the kale with olive oil and salt and make kale chips that got great reviews online and apparently are as addictive as potato chips. As for the rest of it, I'm not sure yet...

Look at you! That's great.
ReplyDeleteAnd I, too, have heard that kale chips are fantastic. You'll have to tell us all what you think of them :)
I am already requesting a blog post to follow up on this bounty. I would love to know how the new (to you and me) foods taste and what recipes passed the test.
ReplyDeletekale chips are really good - even Sakura likes them, though we've sprayed ours with soy sauce for a little extra flavor. I've been wanting to do the farm-share thing myself, but I'm worried most of it will go to waste. Let me know how it goes.
ReplyDeleteMmmm I'm a big fan and jealous!! Wish I lived closer so I could sneak a taste...:)
ReplyDeleteWhat does CSA stand for?
