Observations From Exercising

1.  It is indeed possible to uppercut your own chin.
2.  It is also possible to cross-jack onto your own toe.
3.  It is impossible for me to do a sidekick correctly and keep my balance.  Especially when you throw in a shuffle.
4.  Any time I think I'm looking awesome, all I have to do is check my ego at the mirror.  (Hey, I really thought that sidekick looked just like the BodyCombat poster!  The mirror is wrong--my foot HAS to be more than 5 inches from the floor!)
5.  Any time I think I'm spinning so fast my legs are going to fall off, I look in the mirror and see that I am not even close to even touching the instructor's speed.
6.  Don't stand/sit in the middle in front of the instructor.  You WILL be corrected.  Especially on those pesky sidekicks.
7.  Just when I think I have my elbows tight and together while working triceps, and instructor will come by and push them closer together.
8.  I turn beet red and everyone around me thinks I'm going to faint at any minute.  I'm not.  In fact, after cool down and stretching I usually feel pretty good.  It's just this darn coloring of mine.
9.  If you go to 2 cardio classes in one day, especially back-to-back, be prepared to have to use the bathroom at least 5 times during the night.
10.  I must be doing something right because I've lost 15 pounds.  15 to go to dream weight, 20 to impossible dream weight.  Go me!

  1. You crack me up!! I do remember seeing your face super red after RPM and thinking "OH NO! is she OK!?!?" hhaha. And I do that too...think I am SO hot and sexy when doing body pump, and then I look in the mirror. :D

  2. #8 was my favorite. I'm not sure what it would be like to have your skin. bwahaha ;) Now, we just need a picture of the new hot skinny Amanda. Or do we have to wait till #10 is accomplished?

  3. LOL it sounds like me trying to do Tae Bo, and congrats on the weight loss! In my world, gym mirrors are also called ego deflators, reality checks, and motivators. :)

  4. Love it! All your hard work is paying off. I went to a step-kick or kick-step or some kind've class that infuses kick boxing and I looked ridiculous! Needless to say, I never went back and stuck to Zumba. LOL! Keep up the great work!
